The 3rd Oman Athletics Forum 2019

About the forum:

The Paralympic Committee organized the Oman Athletics Forum for People with Disabilities in its third edition on January 22, 2019 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, which was sponsored by the Social Development Wing of Khimji Ramdas. This forum included a number of competitions, including the 100m race
200m, long jump, shot put, javelin throw, discus and mace throw. Where the players were distributed in the competitions according to the type of disability. About 102 male and female players with motor disabilities and cerebral palsy participated in this forum, in its third edition.

Visual impairment and intellectual disability.

A number of volunteers from Sultan Qaboos University students affiliated with the Sports and Society group participated in organizing this event, in addition to some employees of the sponsoring company.

At the end of the forum, the sponsor of the ceremony, Dr. Khamis bin Saud Al Tobi, Director General of the General Directorate of Administrative Development at the Diwan of Royal Court crowned the winners of the various competitions, in the presence of Nilesh Khimji, a member of the Board of Directors of Khimji Ramdas, a number of members of the Paralympic Committee and parents.

Participation in the Federation Cup Cross Country Championship for bodies and institutions

The Omani Paralympic Committee participated in the Cross Country Federation Cup for Bodies and Institutions organized by the Oman Athletics Federation on Friday 10 November 2017, coinciding with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 47th Glorious National Day in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, President of Sultan Qaboos University, with the participation of (9) players belonging to a group of government and private institutions, which aim to provide services for people with visual disabilities.

The committee’s participation comes with the aim of integrating people with disabilities with the sports activities that are organized with healthy players and highlighting their sports potential and abilities.
