The national wheelchair basketball team set up an outdoor camp in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as part of the Omani Paralympic Committee’s efforts to complete the team’s readiness for the second West Asian Paralympic Games from 5 to 14 September 2019.

The camp included a number of friendly matches within the framework of completing the readiness and preparing the team for the tournament competitions, during which the team seeks to present an honorable level and high technical performance. ,.

The national team’s participating delegation included 12 players, along with the technical and administrative staff, namely Zaher Al-Otaibi, Hafez Awlad Ahmed, Younis Al-Toobi, Ali Al-Ghasini, Ali Al-Ghafri, Salem Al-Hashami, Muhammad Al-Habsi, Adnan Al-Balushi, Nabil Al-Kindi, Ashraf Al-Khaseibi, Ismail Al-Saegi and Ahmed Al-Amri, along with national coach Yaqoub Al-Nadabi and his national assistant Musa bin Ali. Today, our national team for people with disabilities begins its external camp in Tunisia and lasts for a whole month, as part of the Omani Paralympic Committee’s efforts to prepare the team’s players for the World Athletics Championships for Persons with Disabilities, which will be hosted by Dubai next November. And Sonia Mustafa Hussein, the running coach, and Asaad Muhammad Al-Qarni, the assistant coach, and the list of the team’s players included four players: Muhammad Jamil Al-Mashaikhi, Taha Abdullah Al-Harassi, Fawzi Salem Al-Hubaishi and Muhanna Fadel Awlad Thani.
The Oman Paralympic Committee aims from this camp to create a stimulating training environment for the players in order to improve their technical levels and raise the ceiling of their ambition in order to present an honorable level in the tournament.

The National Athletics Team for People with Disabilities held intensive training in its closed camp at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, in preparation for participating in the Tunis International Athletics Forum for People with Disabilities, whose competitions were held during the period from 18 to 25 June 2018, led by Tunisian coach Sania Mustafa Hassanein and assisted by the two national coaches Asaad. Bin Muhammad Al-Qarni and Awf bin Abdullah Al-Noamani, with the participation of 8 players from the national team for people with disabilities.

The training comes within the framework of the Omani Paralympic Committee’s efforts to prepare the team well to represent the Sultanate in this international forum, in partnership with Khimji Ramdas, which supports the team in its internal camp.

In the preparation camp, 8 athletes participated in a number of athletics for the disability category, the champion Muhammad Al-Mashaikhi and his colleague Muhammad Al-Qasimi in three competitions: mace throwing, discus throwing and shot put. The Hebrew banner in the discus, shot put and javelin throw competitions, the player Talib Al Balushi participates in the discus and shot put competitions, the player Sarah Al Anbouriya participates in the shot put competitions, and in the running competitions Taha Al Harasi participates in the 100 meters and 200 meters competitions, and our team player participates National Qusai Al-Rawahi in the 100m and 200m long jump events.
