شاركت اللجنة البارالمبية العمانية في اجتماع المكتب التنفيذي للاتحاد البارالمبي لمنطقة غرب آسيا الذي عقد بالعاصمة الأردنية عمّان برئاسة الدكتور عبد رزاق احمد برشيد رئيس اتحاد غرب آسيا البارالمبية بتاريخ 16 سبتمبر 2019م، وبحضور ممثل السلطنة الدكتورمنصور بن سلطان الطوقي رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية العمانية نائب رئيس اتحاد غرب آسيا والأمين العام الدكتور مصباح جعفر ابراهيم واعضاء اللجنة ويأتي هذا الإجتماع قبل انعقاد دورة العاب غرب آسيا البارالمبية الثانية.

وتضمن الإجتماع العديد من المحاور في جدول الأعمال من خلال الإطلاع على تقرير لجنة الاشراف والمتابعة، وعلى نتائج اجتماع الجمعية العمومية للجنة البارالمبية الاسيوية المنعقد في دبي فبراير 2019، وتمت مناقشة النقاط والمواضيع التي سيتم طرحها من قبل المكتب التنفيذي للاتحاد في اجتماعه مع رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية، كما اطلع الحضور على الرسائل والمخاطبات الواردة للاتحاد، ومناقشة أبرز التحضيرات من قبل اللجنة البارالمبية الأردنية واللجنة المنظمة، للنسخة الثانية للدورة، وفي نفس السياق شهد الاجتماع التصديق على محضر الاجتماع السابق، وعرض تقارير أعمال سنة 2019، لرئاسة الاتحاد والأمانة العامة إضافة إلى تقارير اللجان الرئيسية، كما تم مناقشة تفعيل اللجان باتحاد غرب آسيا، وإيجاد آلية جديدة تمكن اللجان من القيام بأعمالها بفاعلية، كما تم التأكيد على اهمية تأهيل الكوادر الإدارية في منطقة غرب آسيا، كما ناقش الدولة المضيفة للنسخة الثالثة .

وقرر الاجتماع تكليف سلطنة عمان بتنظيم دورة في الإدارة الرياضية خلال الفترة القادمة، واسناد مهمة استضافة دورة غرب آسبيا في نسختها الثالثة الى مملكة البحرين 2021م، وبالنسبة لتفعيل اللجان اقر الإجتماع أن يرفع الأعضاء مقترحاتهم قبل نهاية هذا العام، لتكون ضمن خطط الاتحاد في العام القادم.

The Omani Paralympic Committee participated in the meeting of the Executive Office of the Paralympic Federation for West Asia, which was held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, headed by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Ahmed Bershid, President of the West Asian Paralympic Federation, on September 16, 2019, and in the presence of the representative of the Sultanate, Dr. And the Secretary-General, Dr. Misbah Jaafar Ibrahim, and the members of the committee. This meeting comes before the second West Asian Paralympic Games.

The meeting included many axes on the agenda by reviewing the report of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee, and the results of the General Assembly of the Asian Paralympic Committee held in Dubai in February 2019, and the points and topics that will be raised by the Executive Office of the Federation in its meeting with the President of the International Paralympic Committee were discussed The attendees were also briefed on the messages and correspondences received from the Federation, and discussed the most prominent preparations by the Jordanian Paralympic Committee and the Organizing Committee, for the second edition of the session. In addition, they discussed activating the committees in the West Asian Union, and finding a new mechanism that would enable the committees to carry out their work effectively. The importance of qualifying administrative cadres in the West Asia region was also stressed, and the host country for the third edition was also discussed.

The meeting decided to assign the Sultanate of Oman to organize a course in sports management during the coming period, and to assign the task of hosting the West Asia Championship in its third edition to the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2021 AD. With regard to activating the committees, the meeting decided that the members submit their proposals before the end of this year, to be among the Federation’s plans next year.

The Omani Paralympic Committee participated in the West Asian Paralympic Games, where the Sultanate was represented by three national teams (athletics, wheelchair basketball and goal ball for the blind) hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the period from 15-22 September 2019.

(7) gold medals:

Athletics:

The athletics team, with the support of Eshraqa from Khimji Ramdas, the exclusive supporter of athletics teams, and Oman Air, the logistical supporter, participates in this participation, as our national athletics team achieved 19 medals, as follows: For the gold medals, the team achieved 7 medals, which are 3 medals for the player The team Taha Al Harrasi in the 100-meter sprint, in the 200-meter sprint, and in the long jump. Our national team player, Muhammad Al-Qasimi, won two gold medals, including the shot put gold for the f32 category after achieving a distance of 7.05 meters, and the mace gold, and Qusay Al-Rawahi achieved two gold medals by achieving the long jump medal. for the T12 category, after achieving a 5.51-meter jump, and a 100-meter sprint medal.

(6) Silver medals:

While the national athletics team achieved 6 silver medals: The national team, Saqr Al Qasimi, won 3 silver medals, the first in the 200-meter race, after cutting the race in a time of 25.51 seconds, the second silver in the long jump after achieving a distance of 3.44, in the T11 category, and the third silver In the 100-meter sprint, our national team player, Talib Al Balushi, won two silver medals in the shot put race for the f56 category, and in the discus race in his category.

6 bronze medals

The national team players also won six bronze medals, as follows: Fawzi Al-Hubaishi won a bronze medal in javelin throwing, and Ahmed Al-Noubi won bronze in javelin throwing for the T11 category, after achieving a throw of 8.08 meters, and Imad Al-Haji won two bronze medals, the first of which was in the 800 meters race. A sprint when he cut the distance in a time of 2.19.75 minutes, and bronze in the 200-meter sprint after he cut the distance in a time of 25.23 seconds for the T12 category. Our national team player, Muhammad Al Qasimi, won bronze in the discus throw in his class, and the player Sheikha Al Hammadieh won bronze in the shot put.
Wheelchair basketball team:

As for the national wheelchair basketball team, it performed well to compete with the Kuwaiti team for the third prize, but the latter’s experience and high preparation for the tournament were enough to tip his hand so that our team would get the fourth place.

Our national football team was satisfied with the fifth place, as this participation provided the players with opportunities to engage with strong teams through which he gained experience and invested in developing the team’s capabilities.
